With all of the body contouring procedures that exist today, it’s easy to see why some people have a hard time determining which method will benefit them the most. Of course, there is the traditional liposuction technique that has stood the test of time because of its history of effectiveness; however, constant advancements in technology have produced other procedures, such as Smartlipo™, that produce the same, if not even better, results. This relatively new form of body contouring combines the same basic principles of traditional liposuction with innovative laser energy to deliver extremely satisfying results that are long-lasting.
Smartlipo™ offers many advantages over traditional liposuction:
– Less invasive
– Less discomfort
– Shorter recovery time
– Promotes collagen production
– Reduces cellulite
How Smartlipo™ Works
Smartlipo™ is performed by inserting a specialized cannula underneath the skin through tiny incisions. As the cannula applies laser energy to the tissues deep beneath the skin, fat deposits are literally melted, and a vacuum device is used to suction them out. Any melted fat cells left behind after the procedure is performed will be safely disposed of through the body’s natural metabolic process. The heat emitted from the laser also stimulates the production of collagen, which is responsible for keeping the skin smooth and elastic. In some instances, Smartlipo™ can even diminish the appearance of cellulite.
Although Smartlipo™ is typically used for contouring the abdomen, back, and thighs, it is not uncommon for it to be used on the face as well. Individuals who wish to restore a youthful facial appearance but don’t want to undergo an invasive procedure such as a facelift can have Smartlipo™ performed on the cheeks, jowls, and neck.
